Seven Samurai Print
I really wanted to depict a scene from "Seven Samurai," one of my favorite films by Akira Kurosawa featuring one the greatest actors ever, the inimitable Toshiro Mifune, who also received a Hollywood Star in 2016. In this illustration, I wanted to try and capture "Kikuchiyo," Mifune's character, after he successfully steals a rifle from one of the bandits to help in the Seven Samurai cause.
Print includes my newly designed hand stamped embossing to make each print unique and officially by me. The stamp includes my initials and depicts the roman god Janus, god of gateways and time as reflected with a two faced head looking to the past and future. I chose this icon because it's indicative of the variety of work I do and my passion for traditional techniques & technology.
