Mojira Print

Mojira is a print based on a series of paintings I did for a show in Japan curated by Mark Nagata back in 2010-2011 where I mashed up Disney characters with Japanese monsters; Mickey Mouse + Gojira ( Gojira is the Japanese pronunciation of Godzilla ) = MOJIRA.  More here: http://ralphcosentino.com/project/mickey-mojira-friends/

With this print I wanted to create a parody of the classic "pie-eyed Mickey" stock cartoon posters from the thirties. Lots of fun in the details.

Print includes my newly designed hand stamped embossing to make each print unique and officially by me. The stamp includes my initials and depicts the Roman god Janus, god of gateways and time as reflected with a two faced head looking to the past and future. I chose this icon because it's indicative of the variety of work I do and my passion for traditional techniques & technology.

Printed at the Mecha Punch Studio.

Giclee print measures 17" x 22". Signed and numbered. Limited edition of 75.

Beautifully printed on 56 lb matte archival paper with archival pigment inks.

NOTE: Prints ship rolled in a durable poster carton ( separate from book orders )
